Introduction

In these end times, God is raising armies of dedicated believers to fulfill His divine agenda. These armies are not confined to church buildings or pulpits; they are strategically placed in diverse fields to advance the Kingdom of God. This blog post explores the three key functionaries God is mobilizing and challenges you to find your place in this divine movement.

The First Functionary: Prophetic Intercessors

The Role of Intercession in God’s Kingdom

The first army comprises prophetic intercessors. Unlike general prayers, intercession involves bearing the burdens of God. Heaven and every divine move ride on the wings of intercession. The birth of Jesus, for instance, was facilitated by the intercessions of Anna the prophetess and Simeon. These intercessors stand in the gap, enabling God’s purposes to manifest on Earth.

Characteristics of Prophetic Intercessors

Prophetic intercessors are often unseen and faceless. They might be CEOs, professors, or professionals in various fields. Their primary role is to discern God’s current burdens and pray them into reality. These individuals are entrusted with divine secrets because of their reliability and commitment. They take an oath of silence, knowing when to speak and when to remain quiet.

Intercessors do not merely have prayer points; they arrive at the point of prayer. They possess big hearts, capable of carrying the heavy burdens of God. Their lives are marked by intentionality and residence in the Spirit.

The Second Functionary: The Sent Ones

Understanding the Mission Among Wolves

The second army is the sent ones. These individuals are dispatched into hostile environments—among wolves—to bring light and truth. Jesus Himself described this mission in Matthew 10:16, saying, “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”

Strategies for Surviving in Hostile Environments

Sent ones must adopt the wisdom of serpents to survive and thrive without compromising their faith. For example, a Christian lawyer entering the judicial system must navigate its corrupt practices without being devoured. Their primary mission is not to make money or gain influence but to represent Christ and advance His Kingdom.

God is sending believers into various fields—business, law, education, and more. These sent ones must use their professions as platforms to evangelize and transform lives. By staying rooted in their identity as Christians first, they can effectively influence their environments.

The Third Functionary: Mountain Climbers

Climbing the Mountain to Bring Wood

The third army comprises mountain climbers tasked with scaling societal mountains to bring back resources for God’s house. As described in Haggai 1:8, “Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the Lord.”

These individuals are sent into spheres such as technology, business, and governance to acquire resources and use them to glorify God. Their success is not measured by personal gain but by their contribution to God’s Kingdom.

Practical Examples of Modern-Day Mountain Climbers

Modern examples include Christian entrepreneurs, tech innovators, and government officials who prioritize Kingdom work over personal ambition. One notable figure is Cosmos, a Nigerian billionaire who maintains a disciplined spiritual life, including fasting and prayer, to stay aligned with God’s purpose.

Mountain climbers understand that their wealth and influence are tools for building God’s house. They resist the temptation to misuse resources for personal gratification, focusing instead on eternal rewards.

The Importance of Finding Your Place

Every believer has a unique role in God’s end-time agenda. Whether as a prophetic intercessor, a sent one, or a mountain climber, finding and occupying your place is crucial. This requires spiritual sensitivity, dedication, and a willingness to prioritize God’s Kingdom over personal desires.

Christians must stop treating their faith casually. The enemy is actively working to derail believers, but those who stay rooted in their identity and mission will overcome.

Conclusion

The three functionaries of the end time—prophetic intercessors, sent ones, and mountain climbers—are vital to God’s Kingdom agenda. Each of these roles demands commitment, discipline, and spiritual insight. By finding your place and staying faithful to your assignment, you can become a powerful instrument in God’s hands.

As the world hurtles toward the fulfillment of God’s plan, the question remains: Where do you belong? Take time to seek God, understand your calling, and rise to the challenge of becoming a territorial Christian in these pivotal times.
